Ready for What Comes Next: PR Portraits With Rose Reid
I first met Rose Reid on the red carpet at the premiere of her movie, The Lightning Code. Once we realized we were both based in Middle Tennessee, we kept in touch. Then, after unexpectedly running into each other again at local coffee spot Hank’s Coffee, we started tossing around ideas for a shoot.
With the premiere of her next project, The Pendragon Cycle: Rise of the Merlin, approaching, the timing finally made sense. We assembled a talented creative team and headed into Westlight Studios to create a fresh collection of classic PR portraits—images Rose could keep ready for interviews, editorial features, project announcements and whatever comes next.
Celebrity hair and makeup artist Erica Beukelman joined us for the session, with hair color by Courtney Irving and wardrobe styling by Jamie Boyd. Bringing the full team together allowed us to think beyond a single good headshot. Every element could work together to create range while keeping the finished photographs cohesive, polished and unmistakably Rose.
There’s a difference between making a headshot and building a useful portrait library. A headshot identifies you. A strong PR portrait gives editors, publicists and creative teams choices. It needs to feel current without being tied too tightly to one role, one production or one moment in a career.
That was our goal here: portraits that felt polished and editorial, but still relaxed, natural and recognizably Rose. We created enough variety to serve different editorial needs while allowing the entire collection to feel like part of the same visual story.
The best time to make new PR portraits is before someone asks for them. When the interview is scheduled, the announcement is ready or an editor needs artwork, the photographs are already there—finished, versatile and ready to represent the person behind the next project.
