Performance + Production Stills for TV Awards Show
I began photographing the GMA Dove Awards in 2018 as a solo assignment: document the production and create still imagery that could also support internal promotional needs. Over the years, the assignment grew with the show—and so did my responsibility. By 2022, I was leading a three-photographer stills team covering the full arc of the day, from rehearsals and camera blocking through the red carpet and the live awards broadcast.Nashville, TN

A Full Team
An awards show doesn’t happen in one place. While one photographer is covering arrivals, another may be watching backstage or preparing for what is about to happen inside the theater. During the show, each of us works within a defined zone and assignment. We know what we are responsible for, we trust that the others have their areas covered, and we build in enough intentional overlap to capture important moments from multiple angles.
