model test shoot

Test Shoots Matter More Than Ever

If you’re building a modeling career — whether you’re already signed or working independently — the images you create now shape the opportunities you get next. Test shoots give you fresh, relevant visuals that help agents, casting directors, brands, and producers immediately understand your look, your range, and your potential.

My job is simple.

I help models create intentional, agency-friendly test shoot images that strengthen your book and help you book more work.

From lifestyle/commercial to fashion/editorial, models work with me when they need reliable, versatile photographs that elevate their existing portfolio or help them build a brand-new one from the ground up.

What Kind of Test Do You Need?

And this is where your distinction becomes very simple.

There isn't one right way to test. Sometimes you already know what your book needs and simply need the right team to make it. Other times, figuring out what to create is as important as the shoot itself.

That's why I offer two ways to work.

If You’re a New Model

Stepping into this world for the first time? Perfect.

Your test shoot becomes part coaching, part confidence-building, and part portfolio development.

We’ll focus on:

  • Movement & form — learning how to shape your body for camera-friendly lines

  • Relaxing into the session — creating a comfortable, supportive space where you can breathe and be yourself

  • Learning direction — how to take cues, adjust angles, and respond naturally

  • Collaborating on set — understanding how to work with a photographer, stylist, or creative director so you walk in ready for real jobs

This is where you discover what you’re capable of — and where your portfolio starts to look like it legitimately belongs in the industry.

If You’re Already Signed or Working Independently

Every model needs fresh work.

Your look changes. Markets change. Your book evolves. An agent may need something specific to submit you for a client—or you may realize you've got six versions of the same image and very little that shows another side of you.

Testing gives you room to keep working on the craft while deliberately building what's next.

We can focus on:

  • Current, clean images that accurately represent how you look now

  • Targeted looks that fill specific gaps in your existing portfolio

  • Range and versatility across commercial, lifestyle, fashion or actor crossover

  • On-camera practice that keeps movement, expression and direction second nature

  • Fresh material for your book, website, submissions and social presence

Think of testing as part portfolio maintenance, part practice and part creative laboratory. Sometimes you're filling a specific hole. Sometimes you're exploring something neither you nor your agent knew you could do yet.
