Jess+Aaron… These two hold a special place in our heart. It might normally be a social faux pas to talk money, but, truthfully, I don’t always have the best manners. They were our first bride+groom to call us and say “We can’t quite afford you, but we really want you to shoot our wedding.” So, I happily explained to them that if that were the case, that the tables would be turned: instead of us selling them to be their photographers, they’d sell themselves so we’d shoot their wedding. Oh, and to boot, they live in Colorado Springs. So, we couldn’t really meet them before their wedding…

But, Jess was very persistent, negotiating her way to way into our hearts… and instead of a face-to-face meeting, she proposed we have an iChat session (the precursor to Facetime, which only works sometimes… luckily it worked for the four of us) and we had a living-room to living-room meeting.

So, here we are, some 7 months later, they just got into town last Saturday. Sunday we got lunch and hung out later in the evening at a little shin-dig… Engagement Session was scheduled for Tuesday, but rain… so we just pushed it back a day, and wow, was that the right call. The late afternoon/evening light in Branford and Stony Creek was amazing.

Jess+Aaron made it so easy to shoot with them… they did the pre-scout themselves! It was like “we know this spot, and this spot.” And we were like “Yes, more please.”

Seriously, ladies, how sexy is Aaron? I hate to say it, but Brides, you’re all 110% stunning on your wedding day, but what makes a great wedding couple is if you’ve got the guy to match your good looks! And Jess together are about 300% of yumminess.

As we walked I remarked how hard it was to not take a good picture of them… I handed Jess my camera and told her to take a shot at it. There it is: the proof is in the pudding with this snap of Aaron.
